Apply online for an e-visa

Apply through the official Tanzania immigration e-visa portal at least three weeks before departure. You will need a passport valid for at least six months beyond arrival with two blank pages, a passport photo, your flight details and your accommodation or safari confirmation — we provide this letter for you.

Visa types and costs

  • Ordinary single-entry tourist visa: USD 50 for most nationalities
  • United States passport holders: USD 100 multiple-entry visa
  • Multiple-entry visa: USD 100 where you re-enter from Kenya or Rwanda
  • Transit visa: USD 30 for stays under seven days

Good to know

  • Zanzibar is part of Tanzania — no separate visa is required
  • Visa on arrival is available at Kilimanjaro, Julius Nyerere and Zanzibar airports but queues can be long
  • Carry a printed copy of your visa approval and travel insurance certificate
  • Requirements change; always confirm with the official portal or your embassy before travel
