Late January to early March in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu, when roughly half a million wildebeest calves are born within a few weeks and predator action is at its most intense.
March to May. Rates drop sharply, the landscapes are green and photogenic and you often have sightings to yourself. Expect afternoon rain and a few road closures.
